An Alternative Way to Improve the Writing Skills of Secondary School Students: The Social Cognitive Model of Sequential Skill Acquisition (SCM Intervention)

The aim of this study is to examine the effect SCM-based self-regulation writing instruction on expository and skills middle school 7th grade students. In research, explanatory sequential mixed method, in which qualitative quantitative research designs are used together, was used. dimension study, quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test paired control group design used, dimension, case consists 66 students attending grade. It two data collection tools study. T-test Covariance (ANCOVA) analysis were for independent samples compare means pre-test post-test scores. On other hand, collected with a semi-structured interview form analyzed through content analysis. As result findings obtained from results it observed that self-regulated experimental significantly higher compared Qualitative grouped under four main themes: motivation, text production, use strategy, negativities.
